Starfish (Level One) 8M-2YRS

Here’s what you can expect your child to learn in Level 1:

Introduction to water awareness, getting in and out of the pool safely, breath control, 3/5/7 second swims, back floating, flip and float, introduction to swim development and “play swimming”.

Stingrays (Level Two) 2YRS-4YRS

Here’s what you can expect your child to learn in Level 2:

Utilize all learning from level 1 to build upon existing safety skills, grow comfort and endurance levels when exerting energy in the water. Coach Audrey will work with your child to introduce how to enter pools safely (push offs/glides, jumps and dives), and introduce full body water submersions. Level 2 is where all the magic happens. Once your child has completed level 1, level 2 is where we really finalize and strengthen the basics to ensure your child can safely navigate water in a variety of settings and under a variety of conditions.


Squids (Level Three) 4YRS-6YRS

Here’s what you can expect your child to learn in Level 3:

Development of both introductory strokes into a one lap swim.. Full water safety drills. Head up and/or side breathing. Introductory swim drills, underwater swimming, and treading water. Reinforce all swim and safety skills from prior levels. 


Here’s what you can expect your child to learn in Level 4:

Breath development, water safety drills, full stroke development, and 2+ lap swimming. Introduction to advanced dives, flip turns and swim drills. Reinforce all swim and safety skills from prior levels.

Seals (Level Four) 5YRS-10YRS

Sharks (Level Five) Pre-Swim Team / Competitive

Pre & Competitive swim team stroke development and racing skills. Underwater/film camera supported.

(Level Six) Adult Learn-to-swim / Masters

Here’s what you can expect to get from level 6 (16+): 

Master Program:

  • Written lesson plans provided day of session

  • Sessions must be 60-90 minutes in length

  • 1/2x a week:

    • Client responsible for 10 minutes of warmup and 10 minutes of cool down after swims.

    • Coach Audrey will provide warm up and warm down lesson plans

 Adult learn-to-swim program:

  • Minimum commitment of 4 weeks of learn to swim program (8-12 recommended lessons)

  • 45min-1hr sessions 2x a week (recommended). 


Level1 Objectives (report card):

  • Water awareness (bathtub, pool & ocean)

  • Exit and enter the pool safely

  • Submerge mouth, nose and eyes underwater 

  • Blow bubbles through mouth and nose 

  • Introduction to back floating, elementary backstroke (chicken airplane soldier), and recover to vertical position

  • Introduction to 3/5/7 second swims

  • Introduction to rolling from front to back and back to front 

  • Water safety drills (level 1 skill appropriate)

  • Learning how to navigate water environments:

    • How to engage with adults & other children in the water

    • Utilize real water experience from lessons with Coach Audrey to help your child make safer decisions 

  • Respect pool deck and water safety rules in new environments

  • Introduce your child to new sensory stimulation present in water environments (ie. provide a controlled environment to get exposure to new stimulating sounds, sights, touch etc at a waterpark vs controlled environments your child may be used to).

Level2 Objectives (report card):

  • Blow bubbles through nose and mouth

  • Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects from pool stairs

  • 3/5/7 second swims

  • Introduction to breath control (bobbing on the wall to train ocean survival in waves)

  • Introduction to front and back glides and floats

  • Introduction to floating

  • Introduction to elementary backstroke - “chicken airplane soldier”

  • Introduction to 3 second swim, 3 second back float, 3 second swim

  • Water safety drills (level 2 skill appropriate)

Level3 Objectives (report card):

  • Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects from both the shallow and deep ends

  • Front/back floats and glides to the other side of the pool

  • Bobbing from shallow end (breath control work)

  • 3 second swim, 3 second back float, 3 second swim

  • Elementary backstroke for 10 seconds

  • 10 second float and swim to safety

  • Introduction to head up/rotary breathing

  • Introduction to full lap swims- both elementary backstroke and front crawl 

  • Water safety drills (level 3 skill appropriate)

Level4 Objectives (report card):

  • Full lap swims, both elementary backstroke and front crawl 

  • Both head up and rotary breathing from one end of the pool to the other

  • Water safety drills and treading water

  • Optional full clothing water safety test

  • Introduction to flutter, scissor, dolphin and breaststroke kicks on front and back

  • Introduction to all 4 strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and front crawl

  • Introduction to multiple lap swimming and Individual Medley (I.M.)

Level5 Objectives (report card):

  • All four strokes- butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle

  •  Swimmers will be expected to perform arms, legs and combined movements for all 4 strokes

  • Multiple lap swimming (up to 4 laps)

  • Individual stroke correction, swim development, and racing technique

  • Pre-swim team development and competitive swim development 

  • Swim underwater/tread water with two different kicks/survival swimming
